Affinity Devon chooses Charity of the Year

Affinity Devon has chosen ChemoHero as its chosen charity for 2019.

The charity, started by Fremington mum-of-one Lisa Wallis, creates ‘boxes of kindness’ which are given to people starting chemotherapy at North Devon District Hospital. Lisa, who was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012, said she was delighted the charity had been picked from 32 nominations.

Lisa said: “We’re very, very excited about this. Still being a relatively small charity in North Devon, it’s great to know we were picked from so many amazing nominations.”

Centre manager Jean Sharples added: “We’re delighted to have ChemoHero as our first charity of the year at Affinity Devon. Almost everyone has been affected by cancer, and this charity does such amazing work. We’ll be planning some fundraising events throughout the year and will have donation boxes for anyone who wants to support them.”

Any information on upcoming events and activities supporting ChemoHero will be posted on our website and social media channels.
